The finished house: a one-story home with an attached garage and shop. Choose Explore to turn the model or go to a room.
How the model was made
Modeled from a one-page layout plan. Walls, openings, room names, areas and ceiling heights come from the plan. The roof, window sills and heads, and door heights are not drawn on the plan and are shown as labeled assumptions.
Roof. The layout does not draw the roof or give a pitch. Assumed: a hipped roof over each wing at a 6:12 pitch, 18 inch overhangs with fascia and soffit, and standing-seam metal. The garage and shop share one roof. The living and dining roof sits higher over its 14 foot ceiling.
Garage and shop. The garage, 2,511 SF as printed, wraps around a 406 SF shop and a small bath. Its overhead doors face the apron.
Openings. Windows, doors and the two bays are placed where the layout leaves gaps in the walls. Sill and head heights are typical values, not printed.
Room layout. Room names, areas and ceiling heights are the ones printed on the layout. Select a room to fly in.
Slab. A one-story house on a slab: the floor, the covered patio, the entry porch and the apron.

Assumptions (not printed on the plans)
- Roof: not drawn on the layout. Assumed hipped roofs at 4:12 with 18 inch overhangs over every wing, meeting in hips and valleys.
- Garage and shop walls are assumed at 16 feet; the layout prints no garage ceiling height. The whole garage and shop wing shares one roof with one ridge height: past the 16 foot wide north bay's ridge line the slope eases to a 1/2:12 deck, so nothing steps down mid garage.
- The house roof sits on its 9 foot walls and rises into the taller garage wall, so no pocket is left where they meet, and stays clear of the rear garage door by the walk-in closet.
- The covered patio roof runs unbroken along the whole north face at the 9 foot eave. The living and dining room roof is raised behind it over the 14 foot ceiling, with short clerestory walls.
- The layout prints 9 foot ceilings for the Primary Bedroom, Kitchen and Den, so those walls stay at 9 feet.
- Dining and sink bay sizes are scaled from the layout; bay sills and the bay roof height are assumed.
- Exterior door leaves are shown at an assumed 6 foot 8 inch height; the Primary Bedroom corner doors are shown as glazed French doors.
