What can I build here?

Type an address in King or Snohomish County. We read the public parcel, zoning and hazard maps, apply the code sections we have checked, and lay out a free first-pass report for an addition, an ADU, a teardown or a remodel. You can print it or save it as a PDF.

Covered today: City of Seattle (Neighborhood Residential zones), City of Edmonds (LDR zones), City of Kenmore (R-1, R-4 and R-6 zones), unincorporated King County and unincorporated Snohomish County. Other cities get the parcel facts and a note to check with the city.

1. Find the lot

The address goes to the US Census geocoder and to county and city map services. We do not store it.

Read this before you rely on it

This page gives a planning estimate. It is not a legal, zoning or permit determination, a survey, or professional advice. Public maps can be out of date, and codes change. Confirm every number with the city or county and with a licensed architect, engineer, surveyor or contractor before you buy, design or build. Rules shown were last checked October 2026 against the official code pages linked in each report.
