How a house is built
Power from the meter
Power arrives at a meter and a panel, then leaves on branch circuits. This is not a load calculation.
Arrow keys turn the house. Plus and minus, or the zoom buttons, change the zoom. A horizontal drag turns it after you tap the drawing. Reset view returns to the step camera.
The drawing needs WebGL. The notes on the page still stand.
At the service disconnect, the neutral is bonded to the grounding system. Downstream panels keep neutral conductors isolated from equipment grounds. The exact arrangement follows the approved electrical design and applicable code. The utility lands at a meter, and a panel splits the service into branch circuits. Kitchens, baths, and laundry have extra rules for dedicated circuits and for protection against ground faults. Bedrooms need smoke alarms. Those rules are in the electrical code, not in this sketch.
The utility room is a plausible panel location because it is inside, dry, and reachable. The model does not show a panel, a wire, or a service size.
